FIR PROCEDURE IN PAKISTAN
Registration of a First Information Report (FIR) is mandatory for cognizable offences under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
If police refuse to register an FIR, remedies include
i. complaint to senior police officers
ii. approaching the Justice of Peace
iii. complaint to senior police officers
iv. filing a private complaint before the Magistrate.
